Rihwa puts her health first as she cancels an upcoming appearance in favor of vocal cord surgery.
Pop idol Rihwa has decided to cancel her March 3rd concert Candy Box
Vol.4 at the Hiroshima CLUB QUATTRO in order to have vocal cord polyps
removed. The singer song-writer was diagnosed last year and had been
performing with the ailment until threat of polyp growth forced her to
consider surgery. Rihwa shares “To ensure a long career I’ve decided to
get it treated.” she continued “I want everyone in Hiroshima, Japan, and
around the world to be able to listen to my voice and my music, so I’m
hoping for a total and speedy recovery so I can return to stage to open
arms.”
Rihwa is expected to take 3-months of recovery time post-op. Further details will be made available via the official website.
Rihwa [リファ] born October 4, 1989 as Pak Rihwa [박리화] is a Japanese pop
singer represented by Toy’s Factory and managed by Amuse, Inc. Rihwa
was born and raised in Sapporo until she graduated junior high school
where she went on to study overseas in Belleville, Ontario for her high
school education. Shortly after her return to Japan in 2009 she began
her entertainment career by releasing a series of singles beginning May
2010. On April 20, 2012 it was announced that Rihwa hard been signed to
major label Toy’s Factory where she made her major label debut with the
single Change.
