Pop Idol Group ℃-ute to Disband Following 12th anniversary

It’s the final curtain call for pop idol group ℃-ute as 2017 marks the final year for the musical act.
Pop idol group ℃-ute will be ending their careers with a ground-breaking 12-year run as their activities draw to a close in June of next year. The Hello! Project managed all-girls group released an official statement “In June of next year our long-cherished dream of holding a concert at the Saitama Super Arena will come true, and with our wishes fulfilled ℃-ute will be disbanding.”

The group, which recently released the details behind their final concert date, reveals the significance behind the June 12th disbandment date. Chisato Okai explains “June 11th is the day ℃-ute formed. We want to be able to take the next step with everyone.” she continues “Unfortunately it’s a weekday, so please plan ahead with your boss in order to join us.”
The disbandment will come following their final ℃-ute Concert Tour 2017 Haru~℃elebration~ concert tour this spring along with a special anniversary event schedules for June 11th.
Cute, stylized as ℃-ute [キュート] is a five member Japanese idol girl group consisting of consisting of Maimi Yajima, Saki Nakajima, Airi Suzuki, Chisato Okai, and Mai Hagiwara. Cute is part of Hello! Project, produced by Tsunku, who also writes nearly all the group’s songs. ℃-ute made their debut in 2007 and that year won the Japan Record Award for Best New Artist. In 2008, the group was nominated for the main Japan Record Award, the Grand Prix, its song being named one of the year’s best songs. As of May 2013, all of the group’s major-label singles have debuted in the top 10 of the Oricon Weekly Singles Chart.
